Prof Christine Lin

Professor Christine Lin is a clinical researcher at the Institute for Musculoskeletal Health, Sydney Local Health District and The University of Sydney. Her research examines the benefits and harms of treatments for musculoskeletal conditions. Prof Lin is particularly recognised for her research in the pharmacological management of back pain. In this area she has led several high-impact clinical trials showing that some of the most commonly used pain medicines are not effective and may cause more harms in people with back pain, changing practice and guideline recommendations.
Professor Lin’s research is supported by a fellowship from the National Health and Medical Research Council. She has >180 publications and has been awarded >$23M in grant funding. She has a professional background in physiotherapy.
